A new Rolls-Royce for Shuya from 123hair.nl.

123hair.nl

The Malik family has been running a store specializing in hair and body care products for years. Shuya Malik, the son of the family, proudly shares that his father has been in the industry for 30 years and that he himself helps out in the store. His mother, sister, and wife also step in whenever needed.

"Batavo stood out. It was clear that they had put in quite a lot of groundwork."

Since 2016, they have had an online store, which Shuya says became ‘booming’ during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the online business was thriving, even better than the physical store, Shuya decided to improve the webshop. He wanted a different CMS system that would better meet his needs and the demand for products on his site. Shuya said, “In the CMS system we had (PrestaShop), errors and bugs kept creeping in. I wanted to get rid of that. My wish was to migrate my website and webshop to Magento—the Rolls Royce of CMS systems. This would make the site look better and make it easier to increase conversion. But Magento isn’t just any system; you really need to know what you’re doing.”

After doing some preliminary research, Shuya eventually turned to Batavo. “I spoke with several providers who build webshops, but Batavo stood out. It was clear they had done quite a lot of groundwork. Many companies give you a form to write down your wishes, and then they respond to that. With Batavo, you get real attention. They not only address your requests but also provide an analysis of your existing website and offer tips on how to approach certain aspects differently. It also stood out that they have their own webshop, which immediately gave me confidence that they knew what they were talking about and understood the challenges entrepreneurs can face.”

"If something didn’t quite work out or if there was a mistake, it was immediately addressed."

“Next week, the new website for 123Hair.nl will be delivered, and Shuya is very pleased with how the process has gone. ‘I had a number of requests, and I also listened to what various people from Batavo suggested. I did what seemed right to them and what felt right to me. If something didn’t quite work out or if there was a mistake, it was immediately addressed.’ Shuya cites a small example of a button for subscribing to a newsletter that was included in the graphic design but was missing from the acceptance version of the site. ‘That was simply resolved by giving it to me as a gift. It’s a small thing, but it felt very nice. The flexibility and the problem-solving approach were very much appreciated.’

Shuya also praises the communication regarding the webshop. ‘I had to get used to their communication system; personally, I prefer to make phone calls. But I understand that an online system works better for them.’ Through this communication system, he was not only able to ask questions but also keep Batavo informed about what the four other companies, from which he had purchased software for his webshop, expected in terms of information. Overall, Shuya is looking forward to the launch of his site and is excited about further collaboration with Batavo, as Batavo invests in companies that want to continue growing.”

"We like to stay involved with the companies we work with."

“Batavo is also pleased with the collaboration. ‘Shuya is a great entrepreneur to work with. It’s refreshing when a client is open to advice. Shuya took our tips and expertise to heart, which we found very satisfying. Additionally, we appreciated the communication with him, especially since there were four other companies involved with the webshop.’

Batavo looks forward to continuing the process with 123Hair.nl and is eager to assist with the development of the webshop and the growth of Shuya and his family’s business. ‘We like to remain involved with the companies we work with. For us, the project doesn’t end with the delivery; that’s where it truly begins.’
