As the founder of Batao, I took on the challenge of launching my own webshop in 2019. With a team of talented developers at my disposal, I decided to embark on a prestigious project: a state-of-the-art webshop, fully designed according to my own vision and preferences. The goal? To create a showcase for our clients, demonstrating what we are capable of achieving.

A milestone

This webshop, originally intended as a showcase site, quickly transformed into something much bigger. The joy of receiving the first order, a milestone for any entrepreneur starting from scratch, was an overwhelming experience for me. This success fueled my ambition. While I had experience working on hundreds of webshops, I lacked the direct experience of running an online store myself. This project gave me a unique opportunity to deeply learn about the practical challenges and opportunities that my clients had already encountered.

State-of-the-art Platform

Important aspects such as an efficient logistics process, accurate invoicing, a streamlined return policy, and smart purchasing strategies — I’ve experienced them all from the inside. In just four years, this initially small webshop, UnboundXR.nl, grew to become the European market leader in online sales of XR hardware (VR, MR, AR).

Soon, we will launch the new Unbound XR webshop. Once again, a state-of-the-art platform, but this time with the ambition to not only be an example, but a leading online channel aiming for a revenue of 50 million, with thousands of daily orders. This webshop will be ultra-fast, secured with the latest technologies, and seamlessly integrated with various external platforms.

I understand the challenges and opportunities of a webshop owner both in theory and in practice. This knowledge enables us to approach online entrepreneurs with a broader perspective and support them on a deeper level.
